Ski trip to Laax Ending

Anyway, this ski trip came to a happy ending despite all the crap that happened prior to it. All thanks to Winnie, Suet Chian and Joanna who decided to take my slot and of course HELPED ZIC A WHOLE LOT. As we all know, zic will NEVER ask the korean guy / gal for any money in any case. Personally I think Zic owes them a treat, LOL. Ok joking, but after saying this, zic will nevertheless feel guilty and treat them irregardless =P. During the whole trip, well... everyone can see there are clear lines drawn between groups which was rather amusing. Initially there were basically 3 groups - The Adrian grp of ABCs, the zhenru + friend grp and the rest of us. It became clear during the christmas dinner where all of us, damn bo bian, have to sit together and have dinner. I dunoe what was wrong with the adrian grp and zhenru grp when they ordered a bottle; then when the bill came, they MUST split the cost of the bottle and paid individually. Why cant they just 1 person pay for the bottle first then the rest just pay the guy back, weird people - gave so much trouble to the waiter. Although we did pay individually for our own meals but splitting the cost of a bottle? seriously... we all had our own dish which was easy to calculate... but them... sigh... weird ppl. Other than this event, I hardly saw the other 2 groups, maximal avoidance, lol.

Conclusion - great trip all thanks to me and haoming who took a room by ourselves, LOL and of course zic has the 3 gals to thank - how bout a strip tease by zic the hunk? =p=p

Pre Ski trip to Laax

Hi, Zic has been pyscho-ing me to blog about the pre Ski trip planning coz to me its damn fucked up. All due to the narrow minded, ungenerous sonsofbitches planner and his grp of friends.
The following is a direct quote from facebook events.

Please not that the following paragraphs are pretty.... well... written under a very agitated condition. Since everytime I talk about it, I get quite pissed. Please forgive me if it is too explicit for you.

OK Everyone, we'll needa pay in full for the accommodation one month before arrival. So I'll need everyone's money like today or tomorrow transferred my account or given to me before I pay with my credit card. I'll send you guys my IBAN number via the Facebook email. Details are updated. Cheers.

Ok, this is the start of the event with Adrian Chan as the main organiser of the trip. Yea and zic paid for me first.

I have another friend who is also interested.. but no worries he will share my slot with me. One of us will not be slping on the bed thats all. Lift tix we will do smthing else about it.

As Zic and I had some miscommunications, they ended up not knowing that my friend was tagging along. So I told them as above. I mean isn't it good that we have 1 more guy, who doesn't take your bed but we all pay less for the trip overall? I mean we do understand that one of us has to sleep on the floor or something and pay for the xtra stuff that we do not have like lift tickets and breakfast.

James Yeo (New South Wales) wrote

ok so i have another person who wants to come along. since payments etc have all been sorted, i propose that extra people who wants to come along pay same amount minus lift pass fees. (248) then we can use to 211 to buy drinks, dinners, etc :D ofcourse u don't get a bed etc but it's already been closed off, so hard luck. think this is fairer cos everyone kidda suffers etc if ppl decide to join later etc.

And here comes this asshole out of nowhere, supposedly Adrian's fuck buddy who supports him. Seriously, "HARD LUCK"?? knn.. u can go fuck yourself. And use the rest to treat everyone? How bout you treat yourself to your own dick.

Adrian Chan (New South Wales) wrote

I agree with james, its a bit unfair for those who agreed to come later to pay less because they do take up extra space in the room and it'll take longer for everyone to get ready in the morning etc. But if everyone agrees then that would be great.

Great, the original organiser, reasons to pay - take up xtra space and take longer for everyone to get ready?? Dude, get real. Not like we are asking you to wait for us. What kind of holy mother of fuck reason is that. AND NO I DO NOT AGREE WITH THAT. Dude, no one's gonna take your bed space. Btw there are 8 of us and 2 rooms, so 4 each room. I mean you can fuck urself in your own room with your fuck buddies. How I share my bed is not ur problem. I'm pretty sure the other 2 gals will be willing to pay less for the other room that we share and definitely more accomodating.

Zollin Ng wrote

No, he didn't decide to join later, there were some miscommunications between me and zic thats why nobody noes he was going in the first place. And no, there's no reason to pay the same price.

And so here comes my resolution. NO, I DONT FUCKING PAY for those shitted up reasons. I wrote that short coz firstly I didn't want zic to be sandwiched pretty bad in between and ZIC KEEP ASKING ME TO APOLOGISE. Dude, its not I do not want to do it but apologise FOR FUCK, just to make things happier for everyone?? When those 2 assholes arn't accomodating?
Sorry, I dont do this kind of thing. Btw, I almost wanted to fuck them in the facebook messages.

Zic Chen wrote

zol, i think your fren might be paying more if he shares the cost because he'll have to pay an additional fee for the ski pass and lift pass. Could u invite him to the facebook event too? It'll be easier for discussion
And here is zic doing the mitigation, apparently its not really that effective.

Zollin Ng wrote

eh anyway sorry about the miscomm, as zic said.. we'll juz pay for the lift tix
Oh yea, I threw it this line to give zic face. See, I so nice. Oh yea, zic told me that Adrian said, after looking at my previous message, ' Why is your friend being such an asshole, if he wans to be an asshole, I can be one too". Ok, I assume he's quite mad, but seriously, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT, AND IF I DO, U'LL BE THE FIRST ONE I GIVE.

I ALSO AGREE WITH JAMES
GREAT, now comes the third orgy buddy with Adrian gang. WHAT THE FUCK MAN, whats with the caps.

Ok, one night I suddenly thought of a solution. Coz zic told me before that there was this gal who wanted to join also but DO NOT mind paying the full sum ( friend of james yeo). Either she's fking rich or something wrong with her. So I though of giving my slot to her and me and my friend get another room. In the end it turned out she declined my offer coz she said she wont be there for the full five days - and you are willing to pay full!? SIAO, PERIOD. Either that or James expected her to pay full, I do not know. If its so, wouldn't he be like quite fked up also, friend leh dude, pay full? You gotta be kidding me. As I said, she declined my offer, luckily some annoymous korean guy came out of nowhere and took my slot. I was damn happy, at least I don't have to see their chee bye faces so often and don't have to give them face.

Oh and btw me n adrian had some bad blood before, maybe its just me. Coz the last time they planned to go venice, I wanted to go also. Then 3 weeks before, I keep asking zic to ask them, 'eh got plans not, i need to book flights n stuff or train'. Wah lau then KNN PUA CHEEBYE they last 2nd day before the trip den tell zic who told me, 'eh the hostels book liao'. I was like... FUCK YOU ALL LA, last minute how you expect me to find any cheap transport to go. Their response to that was ' oh we assume you take train straight down more convenient' so they happily fuck care about how i got there. In the end I just didn't go. Adrian had to cancel one slot for accoms.
From then on, Adrian's half an asshole to me, sorry I don't care.

Oh yea one last thing, to the 3 of them.
You all can stuff ur dick and balls up your asses so that the next time you all shit, you shit all over them.

I am a very very unfriendly guy.

A blog

Heute hab ich kein Laune irgendwas zu schreiben aber schreibe ich immer noch etwas.
Kein Geld, kein Schnee und nix zu tun. Mein Deutsch ist noch schlecht. Warum so?
Scheiss drauf.

Snow!

I remember when xiuqing told me that it will be snowing, she was very excited about it. So was my colleague Sabine. At those moments, I just 'loled' it off. I never understood what was there to be excited about. Somehow there is something beautiful about it that I never knew.
Well, I got to know about it last nite, when I saw it snowing 4am in the morning. There was this nice feeling to know that it wasn't raindrops that fell but snowflakes.
On this very night, I could feel the serenity of white all around. When the dark skies of rain were not there to make you feel depressed.

A cheer for the snow--the drifting snow;
Smoother and purer than Beauty's brow;
The creature of thought scarce likes to tread
On the delicate carpet so richly spread.
With feathery wreaths the forest is bound,
And the hills are with glittering diadems crown'd:
'Tis the fairest scene we can have below.
Sing, welcome, then, to the drifting snow

La Jeune Martyre - The Young Martyr

One of the paintings that I liked when I visited the Louvre. Painting is done by a guy called Paul Delaroche.

Paul Delaroche was a French painter and sculptor. He became famous for his depictions of historical scenes. The first painting that brought him to fame was his rendition of The Death of Queen Elizabeth which was the first of a series of history paintings designed to show parallels between events in English history and contemporary conflicts in France. Most often these particular works showed women and children in gothic distress as can be admired in paintings such as The Princes in the Tower and The Young Martyr.

The Young Martyr was completed in 1855, the year before his death. The paintingis a depiction of the death of a young female Christian Martyr in the 3rd Century A.D during the reign of the Roman Emperor Dioletian. This painting is sometimes referred to as the Christian Ophelia because of its resemblance to Shakespeare’s character Ophelia in Hamlet. The similarities lie in the assumption that both characters drowned. One difference is that Ophelia took her own life while The Young Martyr had her life taken from her.

The painting, although undoubtedly beautiful is also disturbing. It is disturbing not only for its subject matter, but because there is something so life-like about the girl despite the obvious fact that she is dead. When looking at the painting, it feels as if she has only just died. The feeling evoked is so strong; one almost feels that if only one could have been present a few seconds previously one might have been able to prevent her death. There is a dark figure in the upper left hand corner that appears to be a man on a horse riding away. Presumably, he is the instrument of The Young Martyr’s untimely demise.

Another boring weekend

I just wanna post this to remind myself of certain shows that i like watching and I watched this through tudou.com. Apparently its well... ok speed for my side in Germany.
There's this Stephen Chow show which I like:-

大话西游之月光宝盒 (first part)
大话西游之仙履奇缘 (second part)

Its a romantic comedy adventure thingy. I think its pretty well made. Its a 1994 show by the way.

Oh and I haven't posted any pictures on my weekend to Paris, Zurich and Konstanz coz well.. firstly I'm lazy to post and I didn't realli have any strong feelings attached to them.. basically.. unless I'm damn bored otherwise I have no mood to blog them.

Munich Day 2; 28.09.08

ZIC MISTAKES MOISTURIZER FOR SHOWER FOAM!

Ok, this happened in the morning. Our room was for 2 actually, but 3 of us went to breakfast, they din realli check also -> high lvl of trust in Germany I must say. So zic felt abit paiseh but i didn't mind splitting the cost of his share of breakfast if they ask, most imptly is everyone is happy with breakfast. Anyway he got back to the room first and took a shower. When I got back he was done already. So there he opened the door and:
Zic:"Zol, can I use ur shower foam?"
Zo:*huh.. I dun rmb bringing shower foam* "huh wad shower foam?"
Zic:"There this blue bottle" *says while drying the bottle wif the towerl*
Zo:*Looks at the bottle tryin to recognize it, abit stunned*
Zic:"Never mind, I USE LIAO"*zic says wif the jiao voice*
Zo:"Uh thats the moisturizer"
Win!
Zic:"WTF!, there's the word 'body' and 'lotion' on it. No wonder it feels so WEIRD"

UBER LA

Ok, enough for joke, in the afternoon we went to visit the bmw museum. If you guys want some good pics about the structure, go look for zic. I was kinda bored there ya noe, I'm not really that fascinated by cars and the engine ya noe. I didn't even have the money to buy one in the first place, no point for me to be fascinated. The rest were kinda well... while zic was just there for the architecture.

Here is zic trying to make himself more shuai, poser. Yea anyway me and him were sitting outside while cheryl checks out the museum beside us. We were enjoying the al fresco with a cup of hot chocolate each. Feels GREAT, you will never get this type of chilling session in SG. Its cooling and sunny, totally luv it.

Munich Day 1; 27.09.08

Octoberfest (ZIC DIES AFTER 1 BEER, story at the end)
Some shots of the beer tents
Frankly speaking, I didn't really enjoy it that much coz firstly we didn't enter the tent for some beer drinking and merry making. Next we were just walking around this huge fest which is just a larger version of what I have seen before so it got kinda boring.

Octoberfest is also a carnival, which did not occur to me. I've always thought of it to be just beer tents all over the place. The rides are not cheap btw. Most rides cost between 3 to 4 euros.

Excellent view on top of this ride, forgot what you call it; it juz kinda swings u round and round. Zic was sitting beside me, the people in front are strangers.

After the Oktoberfest tour which we didn't get into the beer tents to drink, we all decided to just find a restaurant and order some dinner and drink at the same time.
There we were and each of us ordered an octoberfest beer which I have no idea what is the difference between that and the normal house pour. Zic as usual fell into peer pressure and somehow got 1 glass by himself.
Willy:"Ok, Zic. I want to see you finish the whole glass(0.5l) by yourself and I wont ask you to drink anymore."
Zollin looks at Zic:"Puss".
So at the end of the meal, zic sort of forces himself to finish the whole glass. He had this 'I'm having a hard time drinking' face.

After that we decide to go to the Allianz Arena. Halfway thru the journey on the train,
Zic:"I have to go out, I dont feel good".
Zo:"Do you feel like puking?"
Zic:"YES".
but he didn't puke.(*cough**cough*act dead*cough**cough*)

So we went out and zic dies at the seat of the train station. As what you would see zic in singapore when he gets tired, he will just sleep anywhere available. The same look after that night when we(me, sean, zx, zic) went MOS then to Cine to watch a movie and zic puked in the toilet while zx and sean were ordering pastamania for supper while waiting for the movie timing.
Luckily we got a hotel room instead of sleeping in a clusterfk way(ok bad description, cant think of any other) like the others in a hostel area. Otherwise zic will just die the next day. Thing is, he didn't puke like the last time, so it means that this time wasn't as bad. Me zic n cheryl ended up not going to the Arena but definitely... ZIC - JOKES LA; 1 BEER NIA.

Mannheim Schlossfest 20.09.08

A beautiful sunset out from Cheryl's window which spoiled while I was there, somehow it didn't like me.

This is the Castle where Mannheim University is. The fest wasn't as big as I though to be but there were drinks and music which were quite enough to satisfy me. I didn't really take alot of pics
A very good live band which I think is performed by the students. I wish NUS had more activities like that, in any case, I doubt anyone will go. There was actually this castle ballroom where people are free to dance and photo taking is prohibited but nevertheless, cheryl couldn't resist and got them anyway. They didn't really play salsa music but still I invited cheryl for a dance, lol. "Hi, welcome to the male dominated activity" yea, she didn't really like that idea. In conclusion, I think good music and ambience is what makes me feel that a fest is enjoyable and this has got both of them! Once again, I must say that there are some things that cant be captured by camera, at least this time there was someone to enjoy the fest with.

17.08.08

I realise most of the germans park their cars head in. I wonder if this style has got something to do with their culture. I mean in SG, most people park their car rear in first. Weird.
Oh n btw, most germans DO NOT jaywalk, stick to the traffic lights even if there arn't really cars in sight and their drivers are definitely more polite and stop to allow pedastrians to cross the roads even if there are no zebra crossings! This is something that singaporeans got to learn and yea.. there are some things about singaporean character that I dont like and sometimes i hate to be one of them. E.g. most Sgreans ALWAYS take a huge bunch of serviettes if its free like in Macs even if they dont really use so much. My mother argues that we can use the remaining some other time but... i mean if we can afford it.. why should we take somebody else's even if its provided for free, I think it will just make me look like i'm taking advantage of things which i think alot of sgreans do; I dont really argue much about it.. but well.. at least my mum doesn't take too many. Perhaps its a typical chinese behaviour or behaviour seen ard the world. I dont deny I've seen germans take a bunch of serviettes but there isn't as many as in singapore.
Sometimes I'm just disappointed in the people of my country coz they are rude, unfriendly and dun give a shit about other people and unforgiving.
Oh one more thing... NUS SUCKS

Venezianische Messe DE

This particular weekend I was at the Venezianische Messe basically a venetian carnival. Its realli quite cool to see people dressed up in costumes n masks. I particularly like the masks...lol, but I didn't get 1 for myself though; it was kinda expensive and I had to pay 9 euros to get it, gawd I should have made myself the international students card den maybe I can go in for 6 euros.

26.08.08

On Monday I decided to ride my bike to school coz the train was delayed and well... I could have tried to make the next train connection timing but... nah decided not to. So there I went riding the bike to work... the first part of the journey was... chilling...... wind went thru my sweater... later it was... warm.. coz there was dis slope... damn steep... either that or I lack excercise.. gave up halfway on the slope... walked with my bike up instead... then it started to drizzle... zzz.. no choice.. had to continue riding.. by that time my legs were already... nua.. its even worse than my 2.4 km run.. argh.. at least I arrived at my workplace... and thanks to my supervisor, I got my bike tires pumped (yes my tires were half flat when I was riding already) and I got my seat height adjusted... I guess every bicycle riding german always have the tools with them, lol. At night, my flatmate (mitbewohner) told me that there was this sushi party going on downstairs and well.. he didn't go down with me... coz he was not feeling well n stuff... So I had to go down myself, I didn't know anyone there and at first when I went in everyone there was like... "who's dis guy and is he looking for someone?" but well.. tt didn't really matter, I suppose I was there to make friends... they were quite friendly though and we really had a great time chatting! There were switz, french, italien, german, japanese, americans and mE! Man... but this was like their last gathering coz they've actually finished their course here... zzz.. just when I got to know them... for the first time I've actually felt that I know this place. Now I've got to wait for the new batch to come in and well.. make new friends again... Oh yea, there was this light alcohol that they offered me called 'sangria', 7% alcohol with a fruity taste and a whole 1 litre bottle costs only 1 euro! great party, chillout, drink, haha.

German gatherings

Heute gab es ein schoenes Wetter; waerme Sonne und kuehle Wind (There was a beautiful weather today; warm sun and cool wind). Today there was supposed to be a praktikant meetup whereby all the IA students in Bosch will meet up at Biergarten in Stuttgart near the main station. Then when I arrived there, I realised something - I didn't know any other students doing IA so I couldn't even recognise any tables there had a hint that they were actually from Bosch and were there to meet up! Sigh, the place I work at is kinda detached from the main compound so I guess I will never know any other praktikants. Luckily during the day, a masters student in my department came to me and invited me to this masters students gathering and its like they've all done Masters at Bosch and are currently working for the company. It was totally a german thing, no other races nor people from other countries. Everyone of them was like speaking damn fast, I totally couldn't catch anything at all. They must like phrase it damn simply for me, so paiseh to keep asking them what they wanted to say. Though uh ok.. I could catch 10 - 20% of what they are saying but... zz... cant say anything ya noe. I wasn't taught to communicate during a social function where all of them arn't students anymore. Yes all NUS german lesson teaches is mainly talking with other students. They were like talking about cars, what they work as, job scopes, talking cok; YES... how to talk cok in german... that's the thing I want to learn! LOL. Then again, it was a great experience, even though I didn't know what they were saying most of the time but at least I get to train my ears to listening to german.
Once again I must say, they have great places to chillax n talk cok over glasses of beers, HA.

Weekend

Woke up at 11, dont know why I just cant get myself to sleep longer. Went to Ludwigsburg to get myself a prepaid card. Somehow its kinda expensive, coz I paid 14 for the sim card itself + 1 euro stored value and i topped up 15 euros so that cost me 30 euros in total, ugh. Then again, I hope I wont be using the fone alot; at least I did survive in Germany for immersion last year for a month. There were alot more meet ups last year; this time I am by myself.
Went to this event called "Weinlaube" (wine leaves); this is an event whereby wine companies come together like a pasar malam and people just buy them, sit down and chillax. Great band performance that goes with it. I just wish that singapore had something like that; then again, it isn't that fun to chillax with singapore's weather. The music was definitely enjoyable just that no one was there to chillax with me. Zzz.

Pic of the Wine fest, lots of tents that serve different wine from different regions and the tent at the very end serves food. One of the many places where germans chillax.

Video of the band at the small wine fest.

And sunday I went to the sommerfest at Stuttgart Scholossplatz which is kinda like the center of gathering at stuttgart and most events are held at. The party was great! Great music, good food and great wine tho I didn't try the food and wine but hey, all booths are selling them and its Germany - how bad can it get!? U guys gotta come by some day man. THE livebands were just awesome definitely >> my speakers, lol.

The liveband I spent the most time on, 2 out of 3 hours there, was the latin music live band (Maquinaria) - very UP, totally owns the band at union square, HA. There were people acutally dancing there, great crowd, impromptu dances, totally fantastic. Will upload photos soon about it, I took like 2 - 3 mins of video of it. Once again its too bad no one was there to share the great moments with me. I wanted to ask someone to dance also but I had my bag, unglam abit the lame to dance with my bag also and I just cant leave it by the side u noe... ugh... had all the impt stuff inside so well... zzz... I aint bringing bags to the next fest and thats for sure!

Great Latin Band
I wanted to upload the video but i think its kinda too big, took too long to process guess my internet sucks. I'm not even half the limit...zz...

Pictures of the summerfest

End of first work week

Ok i haven't been blogging for the last 2 days coz I was totally trying to enjoy the internet. Now I'm just waiting for a game to start hence spending some time writing this up. Thursday I had this Greece lunch that the secretary of Bosch went to get at the nearby mall; pretty nice I must say. You kinda eat bread with a variety of stuff to go with like tuna, some garlic paste, greek salad, olives, cheese and alot of other stuff which I have no idea what they are called; and its totally vegetarian.
Yes and that costs me 10 euros! Then again, later that day, I think I kinda got subsidised - got 5 back.
While I went shopping at the supermarket again, coz i missed my bus -.-, bought thai chilli sauce for 4.39 euros, damn ex but i think its worth it, lol.
It is a pretty cold night, raining outside; I'm just happy that it doesn't rain in the day.

05.08.08

Went to work as usual, finally Herr Huebner (my team leader) gave me something to do. Before that I had to learn this software called “Projectkit” and they threw me a book, ask me to study and I had to know how to work it by the end of the week. It’s a total of 300 pages by the way… zzz… It is FUCKING boring reading that book; I fell asleep a few times reading it ok but luckily they didn’t find out. HA. Yes that’s why luckily he gave me something to do, some powerpoint thing.
Later in the evening had to meet to open a bank account. I walked out of the wrong exit of the train station and couldn’t find the stupid place coz there was so many Deutschbank subsidiaries around. Actually I was kinda dumb to not remember to use the exact address given to me.
Dinner was spaghetti, fish stix and egg.

5th day without internet. Zzz

First day of work 04.08.08

First day at work. Damn long queue at Security and there was this queue ESPECIALLY for praktikants; Bosch really does hire a lot of University students siah. After I was done with the admin stuff then I realize I wasn’t working at that area at all since there was a pickup which I thought was just this guy to bring me to the office building but he actually drove me to someplace else called Tamm. Oh their security cards works for all Bosch work place which is kinda cool coz it works even when I am not in the main compound. There is a small Bosch subsidiary there, really NICE office place – pantry, free drinks in meeting rooms, coffee maker machine and nice clean toilets, woot! LOL. Yeah and I do my work with a 19 inch LCD monitor.
It was a really rainy day; rained from like 11 to 4; had to walk in the rain to lunch and then when I went to register at the foreign affairs office, there was this shitty rain and the place was damn bloody hard to find. There’s like different doors which the offices have the same name but they have different opening hours. For a moment I was like FUCK coz I went to the wrong door, it was closed and I though I had missed the opening hours.
Dinner was once again spaghetti, 2 fish stix and bacon. Picture again.

4th day without internet… miserable…

Sunday 03.08.08

Woke up late today, say 12 pm – its pretty late for a german way of life… lol. Had a sandwich – just bread and ham – a little plain I must say and I had another one coz I though it wasn’t filling enough. Guess that was my lunch + an apple. Oh and I went to the Ludwigsburg town to use internet, cant believe I paid 0,50euros to use 15 mins of internet, I just cant stand the fact that I have a laptop but there is no internet. Then I went to check out my route to Schwieberdingen , which was where I am suppose to be on Monday morning. First I took the route that was provided by the company to the train station ‘Schwieberdingen’; it was a nice journey. I did find the place on the route but I arrived at this DAMN ULU place at the end (just for fun to take the whole route), somewhere you DO NOT want to be in the middle of the night and the train did not run on Sundays hence I took the SAME bus back to the main station. (yes the very same bus that took me there coz he had to wait awhile for the bus timing to leave the place, the same cokster bus driver checked my bus card AGAIN, don’t know why he did it for.)

Went to do some sight see-ing at Stuttgart city center

Some land museum at Stuttgart

The city center

Some world bear crap, suppose to have 1 bear of unique design for each country. After walking 1 round, I couldn't find the one representing singapore, lol. Then again, I have no idea what's so interesting about this that everyone's here hence I only took a picture.

Nice sunset view also from where my room is and where I am eating.

3rd day without internet. Play dota with AI 2 times for the night (argh to think I was kp-ing my brother for doing the same thing at night)

Saturday 02.08.08

Woke up at 9 am just to go do shopping at Ludwigsburg. It was the nearest town that I could actually do some grocery shopping. The place I am in is really a town… might even be less than a town; I could call it a student’s village, forgot to mention that there’s this building full of CHINA people – at least I see them going in and out non-stop from that building and every time it’s a different person. LOL. I bought this list of stuff; I could name it all! – ham, bacon, bread, margarine, 2 packets of spaghettis, 3 apples, black pepper, garlic, tuna, sardines, 10 eggs and fish fingers. Took a picture of my first cooked meal in Germany; I rate it not bad at least for a first time try of a aglio olio, a little lack of oil though.

The night meal HORRIBLE… tried to cook a soup like thing with salt, curry powder and spaghetti in water and added an egg inside with the fish stix. EVERYTHING with the mix was wrong hence I did not take any pictures for it. Was…. Really… horr… ible… you don’t wanna know.

Great Sunset view from my window

Friday Arrival 01.08.08

Once again I’ve lost my luggage… cant believe it just happens again. Until the pick us up guy Prof Schoop told us its normal to lose luggages at Terminal 5. Well… it wasn’t really just me; the other 3 guys from NTU ALSO lost theirs. So this time I wasn’t the unlucky one; it is just TERMINAL 5 HEATHROW. Zzz. The good thing is my luggage came on the same day, at 11 pm though… zzz… I was going to sleep already. This was seriously one of my LONGEST wait EVER – from 4 pm till 11pm. I asked a cute gal for directions at the studentenwohnheim for the housemaster’s location btw, the only happy thing of the day… lol. I went to do some shopping though, through my understanding of the Wohnheim lifestyle – bought a packet of cereals and a 1.5L orange juice.

Interesting Phenomenon

Today while I was in school, I was walking behind this couple but I found out an interesting thing. Though they were couples, they seem to have quite a huge distance between them - like when they were walking together. There isn't any hand hold, the girl and the guy had NO body contacts and the girl's hand which was nearer to the guy actually was holding on to her own bag. Alright, say the girl was on the left and the guy was on the right. The guy had his bag slung onto his left shoulder and his left hand was hanging freely though. For a few times maybe a total of 2 mins out of the 15 mins walk they were well.. their hands were within 10 cm of each other, I did expect them to start holding hands or something but nothing happened; and for the rest of the 13 mins, they were standing apart with roughly 30cm of gap(from hand to hand). From a book of body language that i own, its stated that a person's intimate zone is from 15 - 46cm(measured body to body) and personal zone is from 46 - 1.2m. Hence I can say that the couples arn't ready to become couples since they are only at the border of the intimate zone and personal zone. Even I and Mich/Wanlin stand closer than them la. Another thing is thruout the 15mins walk, there are very little eye contacts between both of them, girl doesn't really look at the guy and vice versa. Both are looking forward and definitely not focused on the same thing. Eye contacts are very important in a relationship since they actually can convey more emotion to the other half than using language. Definitly also, little touches in a couple says alot about the bond in the relationship. Of coz I have also explanations about the mindset of the guy and the girl but I shall not talk about it here since to a certain extent it involves religion and this blog maybe looked upon by them. (OK, I know this couple but no names, and I am NOT a stalker)
Conclusion is... not here not there, no idea what they are doing...

Not a dead blog

Hi, I'm just back here to say that my blog aint dead. I have no idea what else to write on my blog anymore. I'm not a guy that speaks everything on my mind. There are just so many things that I wanna say but these things arn't meant to be spoken about. I am just another typical human who has alot of things to hide. LOL. There are also topics that well... rumor types that people don't like me talking about either.

Lets talk about salsa den. I must admit somehow I feel that people in my old class are more friendly coz more of them are singles. This sem my salsa is kinda boring, almost none of them stays for fiesta n those few who stays are couples who stick to each other the whole time. I must admit that as a guy, I like dancing. People from zic n zx's class doesn't stay as well, so now its just go home right after my class. There's no way I'm gonna dance with people not of my level, lol, typical asian mindset, scared of embarassing yourself, cant see past that, I did grow up in an asian society ya noe. Thing is, I don't like to do standard moves, they are boring after some time, I'm just dont want others to think that 'i dunnoe what dis guy is doing' after dancing with me. Ok, maybe I have a lousy lead, guess I'll just dance with my dog, she wont complain at least.

Start of a new year, end of holidays

Approximately 5 more days till school starts and here I am writing my blog. Its been quite awhile since I last touch my blog; yup, if you look at the last post it says 'Dec 15th'. Haven't baked since and not done anything that I deemed useful. Everyday was just spending time rotting. Days or should I say nights end for me at 4am and starts at 12pm averagely. Met up with quite alot of friends, especially the air force guys. Spent quite alot of money as well, used up all my liquid cash... zzz. Zx just started his new blog, the initial idea was a total knarf. I have no idea what he is trying to do. After watching Heroes, all I can say is to be yourself.

Like the primary 5 kid I'm teaching at the moment, I can foresee another total ah beng. He thinks not doing work and giving a fk care attitude like the other kids in school is cool. I have no idea how am I gonna teach him anything like this. I spend more time trying to make him think and getting him to have the right attitude than actually teaching him real work. To reverse his negative peer pressure is gonna take months or years guessing that he's been with the same bunch of friends for the past 5 years of his primary school life. No idea what his parents tells him but the only thing I can see in him now is just another life which he's gonna regret 30 years down the road. Btw his grades are <35 for English, Maths, Sci. At least the primary 4 kid I last taught was slightly better, at least smarter and listens. The P5 kids tells me they can use calculator, so does my sec 1 kids. I mean for fk's sake, dun degenerate ur brain at such an early stage of life. If you all wanna get alzheimers early then just tell me, I'll gladly let you use calculator for 1+1. Chinese isn't what it used to be as well, primary school chinese textbooks now have hanyu pinyin at the bottom of each character. Kids just read off the hanyu pinyin, they don't recognize the words at all, talking about improving chinese standards in Singapore. Seems to me now you need hanyu pinyin for every chinese character in public. School teachers now doesn't seem to care, teach for the sake of teaching, at least that's what I see for lousier schools, hopeless bunch of kids, same thoughts as mine. Maybe society needs these kind of people so that you actually can see who are the better ones. Everything needs a balance, there can only be positive when there's negative. Of course there are actually kids who's looking for something in their lives, a little late for him but there's still hope and i have kids who are... hmm.. should I say smart by nature or its the parents who are helping.

Ok, recently I have a sudden influx of tuition jobs for me. Calling me almost everyday, asking me why I can't take on more jobs, when am I next available. Teaching the younger siblings of my previous kids. Lucky I guess. Then again, its not my full time job alright, I'm just looking for a certain financial freedom.

There were only 2 events in Dec. One was the house party organized by Gabriel and his gf and the other was my bbq cum archi bbq which was lame. All I can say for the house party was, we had too much to drink but nice drinking game tho, totally luved it, lol. Left me with a bad stomach the next day, ugh, too long since I last drank that much. The bbq was... for us, simple. Had salmon, unagi, stewed chicken, prawns, ya noe... JUST to make the archi peeps jealouse. HAHA. Nah, I mean its christmas man, and those stuff are easy to prepare, put in alu foil and leave it over the fire, no looking after chicken wings or franks or satay. This is what I call a relaxing bbq. The archi peeps were lame, not enough drinks, no utensils (they only had chopsticks), not enough plates, no serviettes, and nobody wants to eat the chicken wings, as always in a bbq. However all these weren't the main issue, the main thing was, zic and jr had a romantic night together, the bbq was just a facade. All the archi guys were thrown into the pool, of course first to go in was the birthday guy, zic. Then slowly you can see who are those more popular in archi and those who are ostracize and of course those who are just 'buay on'. It was definitely a good show for the 7 guys on my side, LOL. Archi side had some gals too, but nah, not interested, shall not talk about them.

Oh, finally I had the chance to go down to union square where its a FFA dance floor for salsa people. Nicole n Joel sadly couldn't make it down. Zic n zx went down with me instead and with shareen, simon and shuxian. Well, this sort of like started the interest of zic and zx who pangseh me when I asked them to join salsa 1 with me last year, zzz. Shuxian just lost touch with salsa for a long time so well, zic zx sx are supposedly gonna join salsa 1 class starting this month, think they missed the first lesson, don't know how are they gonna go about doing it.

Ok, school's starting soon and COR's a pain, so are all the ah tiong and ah neh lecturers whom I'm gonna meet soon. Sorry, kinda racist here but can they just pronouce what they want to say properly?

So much for a long post after a long time.
